Delete Your Data

We respect your right to control your data. TwoFolds is designed with privacy at its core, meaning your data is stored on your device and in your personal iCloud account—never on our servers.

Recommended: In-App Deletion

The simplest and most complete way to delete your data is directly from within the TwoFolds app. This will permanently wipe all portfolios, investments, and settings from both your device and your iCloud account.

  1. Open TwoFolds on your device.
  2. Tap the Profile tab (user icon at the bottom right).
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete All Data.
  4. Confirm the action in the two subsequent alerts to finalize the process.

Note: This action is irreversible. Once confirmed, you will be automatically signed out and all data will be permanently purged.

Manual Deletion Steps

If you have already uninstalled the app or prefer to manage your data manually, you can follow these platform-specific steps:

1. Remove iCloud Storage

Since TwoFolds uses Apple's CloudKit for syncing, your data resides in your personal iCloud container.

  • Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap your Name (Apple ID) at the top.
  • Tap iCloudManage Account Storage.
  • Find TwoFolds in the list and tap it.
  • Tap Delete Data from iCloud.

2. Delete the Application

Removing the app from your device deletes its local database and any cached session information.

  • iPhone/iPad: Long-press the TwoFolds icon → Remove App → Delete App.
  • Mac: Drag TwoFolds from Applications to the Trash and empty it.

3. Revoke Sign-In Access (Optional)

If you used Sign in with Apple or Google, you can revoke TwoFolds' access to your account identifier:

  • Go to Settings → [Your Name]
  • Tap Sign-In & Security
  • Tap Sign in with Apple
  • Select TwoFolds → Stop Using Apple ID

What Gets Deleted

Executing the "Delete All Data" function or following the manual steps above ensures the removal of:

  • All portfolios and their associated assets.
  • Transaction history, custom categories, and notes.
  • App preferences including biometric settings and background choices.
  • Sharing metadata (your email/name associated with shared portfolios).

Shared Portfolios

Deletion impacts shared content as follows:

  • Portfolios you own: These will be deleted for all participants. We recommend transferring ownership or notifying participants before deleting if the data is still needed.
  • Portfolios you joined: You will be removed as a participant, and your contributions to that portfolio will be purged.
